If you want to eliminate fear out of your life, the simplest way to do so is talk to a kid. Kids have no fear to a degree and I guess that’s what gets them in trouble at times. But think of this, what do you have the greatest memories from and you more intense moments? Your childhood right? Think of all the careless, carefree things you did without hesitation when you were young? What kind of feelings did it give you then and what feeling does it give you now just thinking about it?
My kids do just that for me. Not only do they bring me back in time, but they say to me, mom stop worrying just do it. So little by little I am. Yesterday though I missed an opportunity of a life time. I had the chance to go with both my sons(13 and 14) on a flight lesson over Piseco Lake in NY. Why? Because I was afraid. That fear slighted me of something so amazing. How stupid can I be???
I guess I can’t beat myself up too much. Baby steps right? I fly high on the swings with them, I race on bicycles with them, we play manhunt at night, and we tell spooky stories by the fire. I’m getting those feelings back and I feel like I’m starting life all over again. What a feeling!!!
Swing high on that swing my friends. Go for that rush you once had when you were younger. You never know if you’ll get that opportunity again.
It isn’t perfect but it’s pretty darn close. I’m going to continue to count my blessings and be thankful for the here and now. I feel like a big ole great weight is lifted off my shoulders.
I guess having faith does pay off.
Have a great day everyone ❤
I’ve had this piece for over 15 years and I decided it was time to give it a fac lift, and so I did.
All I had to do was sand it down a little with fine sandpaper then used Valspar black paint. Voila!
I also did my two end tables plus my armoire (which I have to post pics of). Oh and I just had new carpeting installed! Not shown in the pic though yet either.
My life at this point in time is all about living it in the simplest form and progression on what has been happening in my life so far. Over the past year we have lost a lot. We lost my mom last August, our house to a fire on Christmas Eve this past December, and our dog Maddy this past March to cancer. Even though I have pain on the inside from time to time, I don’t dwell on the inevitable. You have to move on in spite of life’s misfortunes. We are making changes for the better and healing ourselves in the process. When things like that happen you can’t allow yourself to do anything besides move on. This is about us moving on and sharing our trials and tribulations of buying and remodeling our new home, as well as healing. Hopefully you will find something on here that you can relate to and interesting, and maybe even spiritual! I love sharing my thoughts for the day, my recipes, as well as tips and ideas I learned from other bloggers and pinners. Oh how I love Pinterest! I hope you enjoy reading my posts and if you have any ideas or comments you’d like to share with me, please feel free! Thanks for reading!
